# Create a New Thread

To create a thread,

* Hover over the message you'd like to reply to.
* Click the <img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/bt8UjMwvSvhZqV13FzmJ/blobs/YXC6SImoLEaBeeGzzhig/three-dot-icon%20(1).png" alt="" data-size="line">**three dots icon.**
* Select **Reply in thread**.
* Type your reply. Check the **Also send to channel** box below your message if you want to send your response back to the channel.
* Click **Send**.

## Close Threads

To close a thread,
